Just shoot me!

Wellington seems like a really lovely town, but it's certainly the quietest capital city I've ever been to.
Yesterday I met up with Darci, (one of the girls from England that flew out with me). We climbed Mt Victoria, (and then raced back down because we could see the rain coming in from accross the valley!) and then went for diner at a really busy, friendly, little Italian place.
Whilst we were eating dinner the rain arrived. Thick, and heavy, and very windy. (just like Plymoutth when it rains actually!) After diner, Darci turned right and I turned left to get back to our hostles. Now, it's wet, windy, dark and miserable, so I did what any sensible person would do if they don't have a coat, I ran, (well some of the way anyway - don't forget I'd just eaten a big meal). By the time tha tI got back to my hostle 30 minutes later, I was cold and wet, and...locked out of my dorm! Somewhere between leaving the hostle at 10.30am and geting back at 10.00pm, I had lost me key! There was no way I was going to go back up Mt Victoria looking for it! however I could go back to the restaurant and see if I'd dropped somewhere along the way. an hour later, even more wet, cold and miserable then I had been when I first arrived back at the hostle I had been all they way back to the restaurant, and then back to the hostle with no sign of the key. I had managed to find a business card that I had dropped, as well as finding out that I had left my sunglasses case in the restaurant, but they were not going to get me back into my dorm. Nor was there anyone else arround to ask if they'd seen it. The only thing to do was to confess at the desk that I had lost the darned thing, and pay the price of a new one.
When I got to the desk, all the receptionist could do was laugh at me. I was not too pleased with this, until the guy explained, that he new exactly who I was, because he had my key, and someone had handed it in about an hour earlier... right about the time I headed back out into the rain to retrace my steps.
Please would somone put me put of my misery and just shoot me!
p.s. my key is now tucked away in a much safer place!
love Sueby

Oh Sueby! This could only happen to you. What a story. Hope you don't end up with a chill from it all. The adventures continue though which I suppose is a good thing. Good to hear more news of you. You've been quiet lately. Love from all here. Judi
