Ok - This time there really will be some pictures.
From the top of mount Eden in Auckland, on the day that I arrived.

a beach (no idea which one) that Cat and I stopped at when we drove North from Auckland. It was the first opportunity we'd had to get north of the city - to get out of the city at all, and I wanted to get my feet wet!

The tide was way out when we stopped to let me paddle, and this huge (ok-large) area of rock was exposed, the rock was full of shells, embedded in it. cool to look at, but sharp to step on in bare feet whilst trying to get to the water's edge!

this is the view from the end of the road on the first of the back road detours that we took. at the moment it's all about the back roads! On Sunday afternoon We managed to end up on the milk tanker route!
This is the end of the road. (the car is playing hide and seek behind that building at the end of the pier!)
Cat was very taken with this picture on one of the doors in our dead end town!

How is it that I always find the towns like this!

You always get the best road signs on the back roads!

I was going to get lots of pictures of the car from a distance and play find the car... but I came to the conclusion it would be way to much effort! so here is the car, it is called Sampson, but currently has "the Cat and Sueby Mobile" written in dust right down one side!

You also get the best views when you take the back roads, but some things never change no matter where you go - you must always beware of the dog!

I've been trying to grow Calla Lillies for years, and so far I've only managed to grow a single solitary flower... Here they grow like weeds!

We finally made it to Cape Reinga, through the bush, and via a large number of winding roads,
and after a number of false hopes,

we finally saw the spot where the Tasman meets the Pacific.... Can you see the line? No- I can't find it in this picture either, but I promise I did see a hint of a possibility that there might have been possibly two currents causing a slight disturbance on the surface of the water... maybe!

More next time!

Hey it looks great there and you seem to be having a blast. What happened to the camper van? still you could sleep in the back of the car if all else fails! Glad to hear you are earning your keep as you go and you love advocado really. It is really quiet here without you and I seem to be getting a lot more work done! Any how I best get some work done instead of reading your blog. Take care & keep the blogs coming. Miss you Dianexx

This is the first thing dad checks in the morning even before breakfast. We tried to light the Rayburn last night- no luck. What is the weather like with you? So sorry to hear of your new dislike of avacodoes. Do you get much for picking. ie room and board? The ironing is almost finished and the clothes should all be washed by the end of the month, so you can come home after you have finished this adventure. Loved the pictures and you too.
