Still in Whangarei

Cat and I have been to see some Kauri trees this week. Unfortunately we walked right past them! It wasn't until we were on our way back to the car that we spotted them! It was a case that we couldn't see the wood for the trees, or was that the trees for the wood? To be on the safe side we took some pictures of cat standing next to some other trees just in case! Once we found them though... They were huge!

We've also been learning how to do poi. (it's a Maori thing, but I know that at least one of my cousins has got a set of poi balls) It's great fun, however I did find myself getting hit on the head an awful lot!... but I've got no pictures of this!

And when we're not working, we head for the beach!

Ok, I've been trying to post this for days, but the photos refuse to be uploaded.

Yesterday we headed to a lake on the west side of the island, with the promise of thermal pockets. Of the five of us, only 2 were brave, or stupid enough to go in the water, and we didn't find any thermal pockets. It was Freezing! that will teach me for believing any one who promises thermal pockets!

This coming weekend is a holiday weekend here in NZ, and I think Cat and I are planning to head south, we've had enough of the avocados for now, but hopefully we'll make it back up here at some point so that I can have a go at diving in the poor knights islands. It's meant to be one of the best dive sites in the world.

Love loads, and I'll try more pictures another time.

Love Sueby

We want pictures!

But it's good to hear you getting out and about.

I'd have loved to see you swimming in the cold sea!
