This post is especially for the harriers and all of my running girls.... Boy do I miss you guys! I've been so lazy since I left the UK, and have not been running until last night. I know that's a whole month without going running, and I felt every moment of that month when I went out last night. If anyone's going to be in New Zealand at any time, please let me know, and we'll go for a run, because I really need it! The run was gorgeous though... along the beach front in Whitianga (pronounced fiti-anga - I think) as the sun went down. the beach was covered in shells, some of them huge, and gorgeous, so of course I got a little distracted!
the reward for completing a run, was TimTam tea-time, timtams are a bit like penguins, or chocolate covered bourbons, you bite the ends off, and then suck your tea through the timtam like a straw... then eat the biscuit in one bite... it sounds disgusting, and looks weird, but tastes amazing I'll definitely be running regularly... especially with timtam tea time as an incentive!
Still no pictures as the USB cable doesn't seem to work at this Internet cafe. We are just waiting for our laundry to finish before we head out to hot water beach, and Cathedral cove today. we're hoping to dig ourselves a hot pool on hotwater beach... it sounds heavenly just thinking about it.
Since arriving in Auckland, we visited Waiheke island with Victoria, and had drinks with Ian, (the Nordic viking) we spent 4 hours lazing away in the Miranda hotsprings, (and then smelt like rotten eggs for the rest of the day) spent the night in Thames, kidnapped Claudia, and drove her to the top of the Coremandel peninsula, had amazing houmus from Coremandel township (it was so good that we went back for more), been stuck in the middle of a flock of sheep, witnessed the Bay bachelor 2007 competition, and spent the night in the cat's pyjamas... it's been a hectic couple of days! Pictures will be added at some point I promise! (or you can go and see Claudi's blog for some pictures - the blog is in german though http://www.claudiagoeskiwi.wobistdujetzt.com/ look for fotoalbum on the left side of the page.
Love to all,
Sueby
